C. Cornell Evers is an independent writer, photographer and curator with over 20 years experience in the South-American Amazon area. In Brazil he works with local artists on projects about the future of Amazônia concerning sustainability and the vital signs from the region.
FOOTBALL IN THE RAINFOREST
In 2007 C. Cornell Evers initiated cooperation between Foundation StadsSpelen in Amsterdam and the Peladão in Manaus, capital of the Brazilian Amazon state Amazonas. The Peladão is the biggest amateur football competition in the world. On Amsterdam Day 2007 C. Cornell Evers presented a group of photographers from Manaus in an exhibition entitled:
‘FOOTBALL AND QUEENS IN THE RAINFOREST’
I DREAM
In recent years C. Cornell Evers traveled several times to Africa in order to report on the battle against AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.
